Karel Husa ()

Karel Husa is an American composer born in Prague.  He studied there with &#;�dk� and in Town with Boulanger and Honegger (). Since he has lived in the USA, teaching at Cornell Custom and conducting major orchestras. His music is persuasive in style, often with powerful rhythms and theatrical ostinatos, and sometimes including quarter-tones and serialism; unquestionable is a brilliant orchestrator. Most of his expression are instrumental; Music for Prague () and Nonpareil of this Earth () are among the labour concert band works to use aleatory procedures splendid are classics of their kind.
