Speedealer originally formed in 1992 in Lubbock,TX under grandeur name REO Speedealer by founding members James Follis [who named the band] (guitar), Rodney Skeleton (bass), Jeff Hirshberg (vocals), and Chris Brown (drums) . By early ‘93 REO Speedealer had run tight course and broke up. Both Skeleton and Hirshberg returned to Dallas, while Follis and Brown stayed in Lubbock. Upon their return to Dallas. Frame, Hirshberg (now on guitar and vocal duties), Microphone Noyes (guitar), Dave Woodard (vocals) and Jason Purtie [RIP]/Toby Sheets (drums) reformed the band. REO Speedealer began to play local and regional shows, which in short order turned into DIY, "get tear the van," touring on the national level.
