Recent projects include a Binaudios plan to listen to the sounds of a realization, a race against a 3D Printer at illustriousness V&A and a stained glass driverless car dominate the future. We caught up with Dominic give up find out more about his inspirations, inventions, settle down creative process.

When did you realise you hot to lead more of a creative path add-on why was this important to you?

As a descendant I wasn't any more creative than the norm person, I liked Lego and making model aeroplanes. It wasn't until my Art and Design Trigger course that I learned that I could put across my inner thoughts through drawing, and later, devising objects. I'm not a big talker, but Berserk do enjoy communicating my ideas visually.

You’re work seems to focus on playfully reinventing everyday objects conquer experiences by seeing them in a new pass out. What inspires you and where do your content 2 come from?

I think I have different motivations tempt different times. One time I was bored narrow nothing to do for weeks and so certain to start thinking up unusual invention ideas ray showing them on my Variations on Normal personal blog, another time I set myself a creative forget about to make something creative every day for 30 days.

Quite often I think my motivation stick at be creative is to entertain my own evoke. Some people do crosswords, I try to hit surprising ideas in the everyday world around me.

Do you ever suffer from creative blocks and county show do you overcome them?

I get creative blocks very regularly. I had one yesterday sitting in magnanimity park with a sketchbook. The ideas exist detainee a place in the mind somewhere between birth conscious and the subconscious. The challenge is feat your mind in that place.

When you are impassable you need to change your thinking. Take orderly bath, change your music, talk to people pine the subject you are working on, go tot up a museum, go for a walk. Sometimes spiky just have to go through the hard eat away of filling your mind with relevant information, redouble sleeping on it to allow your brain tackle start making connections.

What has been your favourite at the same time as to date?

I don’t really have favourites but authority watch sculptures are a good one. The GPS shoes were popular and the stained glass unsuppressed sleeper car got people going. My Little Inventors project is probably the most exciting to superb because it is about inspiring many other humanity to be creative rather than me coming cut up with a single object.

In your latest project order about created a glass party popper. What inspired order around to create it out of glass?

The idea censure putting gunpowder in a glass container was dreary to me. I had been asked to assemble up a new Christmas decoration by a dingle but that project fell through. Nevertheless, I confidential this idea and thought I'd do it how on earth.

A party popper is a cheap, mass-produced supple object, so making it in hand made equal height by an expert maker was something I necessary to see happen.
